Our
HISTORY
TinkCo is the result of two passionate and successful theatre companies—COS Productions and Theatre Ink—coming together to form one dynamic, forward-thinking group.
COS Productions, originally known as Cirencester Operatic Society, has been a beloved part of Cirencester’s cultural life since 1951. Performing at the beautifully refurbished Barn Theatre, COS became known for delivering high-quality musical theatre, from timeless classics to modern crowd-pleasers. With access to some of the best lighting and sound systems in the region, COS continuously pushed the standard of local amateur performance.
In 2008, Theatre Ink was founded in Swindon by a local performer and director with a clear vision—to raise the bar for amateur theatre in the South West. Known for bold, critically acclaimed productions, Theatre Ink quickly established itself as one of the region’s top amateur companies. The group became a creative hub, embracing both established musicals and exciting new works, while nurturing talent on and off the stage.
With overlapping casts, shared audiences, and a common mission to deliver exceptional theatre, it was a natural evolution for the two companies to join forces. Now operating as TinkCo, we continue to rehearse and perform at the Barn Theatre in Cirencester, welcoming members from across Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, and beyond. Together, we are committed to producing inspiring, professional-standard theatre and offering opportunities for everyone—from experienced performers to those just starting out.
